dreams accomplished and dreams in process

Here is a pic of me on the road on my sears a few days before the crash.

Here is a 42 that the sheet metal is getting fit on. I am really excited about this bike and am looking forward to riding it. It belongs to a hd dealer in Texas and is going to be primo!

And my next long term project just showed up in the mail today. It is a 1917 pope left hand case, I found a right hand case in Australia and will have a bike some day. I have too much healing and work to do for customers to be in a position to tackle this project right now, but I can still collect parts and day dream. life would be boring with out projects.

pure insanity

sorry for the lack of updates. I got in a bad accident with my sears and have been healing. One of the cool things that has happened since the cannonball at our place was a ride that my dad, Ray and little Neil did with 12 guys from the York Pa Harley facility. We flew them in to our place, taught them how to start old bikes and ride them, then everyone rode up to one of my friends place to look at his collection of 50 really old harleys and an indian. here is the line up of the old bikes that they rode.
lots of neat bikes in this pic. I can't believe that no one crashed or got hurt. this was one of the craziest things that my daddy and I have ever done. Every one had a blast and made new friends.

Here is a pic of everyone leaving. The guy on my 36 is Dave, he runs the union for all of the employees at york. He is a cool guy!

Here is our op 49. You can read about the trip in an up coming issue of HOG tales magazine.

41 el rebuild

after the ride, half the guys flew home in the am and six guys stayed at our place till their evening flight. We let them tear down our 41 motor which had been smoking pretty badly. This bike had 7 thousand miles on it when we bought it in 02. This is the first time that the motor had been out of the frame since 1941

HEre is a pic of Jim, he works on the floor at York and builds bikes all day long. He is a super nice guy.
Here is the problem. ELs don't havethe top compression ring on the front piston. The piston melted and compression was seaping past this nasty part of the piston. The exhaust gasses went through the piston into the cases and out the breather. My dad is planning on taking this bike on our alaska trip, so we were going to go through the motor anyways. The burnt piston scuffed the cylinder wall a little bit but it should clean up at .005 over.

fc 53 finished!

We fired up Frankie's 53 yesterday. It started on the third kick

Check out his original sparto tail light. This is the first real lens that I have ever seen. What a neat deal.

This is a nice sleek looking bike.

fc53 almost done

Ray and my dad have been making great progress on this 53 for frankie. Should be fired up tonight or tomorrow. We ended up going through the wholebike and making it as bullet proof as possible. It is set up to cruise. I am excited about the bike but even more excited about having another local friend to go riding with.

Man o man I love black pipes, they really do a good job of framing the engine. Have a great day, I am going to go ride my sears.

backwards seat!

Inever would have dreamed that we would make a set up like this. My daddy will be hauling Mike Lichter on the cannonball and Mike wanted a backwards facing seat to take pictures on. I put English Tim on this project, he is doing a great job on it. It is way over engineered, and sturdy.

here it is with a seat on it.

and with two dudes on it.
This is so damn cool! I cant wait to test it out! Videos to follow. I have a feeling that this is going to be a chick magnet lol! Let me know if you want one for your hydra glide lol

fifty three project.

The fifty three is making good head way. There is a lot of fitting involved in these bikes. It is working out nicely.

Still have some wiring to do, brakes and seat. Ray is kicking butt on this project. I am still sorting out my sears which is a monumental project. Should be running this week, then I can get back to hd projects.

HEre is a pic of Tanya and I in Rushmore Cave!

sorry for the lack of updates :(

Well guys and gals, I haven't posted on here lately because I have been so overwhelmed with working on my sears and the giveaway bike. I just got back from sturgis and wanted to post a couple pics of the sears and Ryan's WLA.

Here is the give away bike. Ryan kicked ass on the bike and it is really nice. It runs great and is super smooth and fun to ride. We had to make a longer clutch pedal and do a few other mods.

Here is a pic of young Ryan on his bike that is made up of donated parts from AMCA members all over the country. This has been a two year project for me between gathering up all the parts, promoting the contest, and helping Ryan make the whole thing happen.

Here is a pic of me and my dream boat after a 26 hour marathon work session. This pic was taken on the way to loading the bike up for the trip to sturgis. Thanks to everyone that helped get it done. There are still a few hours of work to do on it Hopefully I will have it fired up this weekend. I will post a video shortly. Wish me luck!
