wheels, welding, etc....

I spent most of the morning masking off different bits and pieces at the painters. I picked up half a dozen cylinders from getting sandblasted. Check out all the fins missing on Paul's from cylinder.

I started fixing them, but ran out of rod, so I will have to pick some up later on. Lots of work to go, but it is nice to get started. This is a ton of work but now is the time to do it.

Ray is working on wheels. He is rebuilding seven of them. what a bunch of work.

Here are the wheels for Jason's 65. The rims were at the chrome plater for over a year. They turned out really nice though and it was worth the wait.

Notice how the center of the rim is not polished. These are the correct 62 and later rims with the heavy outside lip. Notice how the center strip where the spoke dimples are isn't polished. This is the way Kelsey Hayes and Harley made them. It is a neat detail.

fc 53 finished!

We fired up Frankie's 53 yesterday. It started on the third kick

Check out his original sparto tail light. This is the first real lens that I have ever seen. What a neat deal.

This is a nice sleek looking bike.

fc53 almost done

Ray and my dad have been making great progress on this 53 for frankie. Should be fired up tonight or tomorrow. We ended up going through the wholebike and making it as bullet proof as possible. It is set up to cruise. I am excited about the bike but even more excited about having another local friend to go riding with.

Man o man I love black pipes, they really do a good job of framing the engine. Have a great day, I am going to go ride my sears.

fifty three project.

The fifty three is making good head way. There is a lot of fitting involved in these bikes. It is working out nicely.

Still have some wiring to do, brakes and seat. Ray is kicking butt on this project. I am still sorting out my sears which is a monumental project. Should be running this week, then I can get back to hd projects.

fc53 and Ds 42

This little hump between the springs was used on 42 springers. This is a tough bugger to find. I have seen them on xa forks wr forks and big twin forks!

This is a rolling chassis that my friend and I put together a couple days ago. It is a 42 el that my dad and I are building for a friend in Texas. It is so nice! It will be skyway blue with all the goo gaw shit on it. I am excited for this bike!

OOOO check out the early brazed hub and one of our grease zercs. That's right, we make our own grease zercs. I am obsessive over little details like this!

I also made some good headway on the 53! The motor and transmission are mounted for good. I am going to put a pair of s3 tires on it today!

I tried mounting this oil filter and did not have much luck with it fitting the way that it is supposed to. I get pretty frustrated with reproduction parts that dont fit. I am not sure which route I will go on the oil filter, I'll think about it over the weekend and make a decision next week.

panheads and knuckleheads oh my

Here is a 53 fl that I will be putting together in the coming weeks. It is for my friend Frankie from Omaha. this is a fun little bike.

Rear 3/4!

Here is some old junk knucklehead that is missing a few fins.

Welded in place

And the other one installed. This is a tough repair to notice raw, and once it is painted no one will ever know I was there!
