Here is a pic of a 12 x that I saw this weekend. This bike is pretty much all real stuff. I can't wait to have mine done. IT is a ways off, well a really long ways, but life would be pretty boring with out day dreaming. This bike is stellar and very inspiring. THis is the coolest part. I love all this old linkage stuff. It is all rods, and crazy mechanical stuff. I am working on John's 48 exhaust, the rear header pipe is giving me fits. I decided to move on to fitting the primaries after fitting the front header pipe and s pipe. I have a few ideas on how to get the rear header pipe set up just right, but I want the transmission to be bolted down and in its home before I move on to setting it up. Jesse got a new batch of transmission plates yesterday. Now he just has to blast the edges, then I can weld them and parkerize them. I love making our own stuff.

One of my friends sent me this old extol video. IT is soo cool. Ahhh memories... I remember seeing these guys when I was twelve and thinking it was the cooolest thing of all time. I immediately wanted to grow out my hair and do the wind mill wherever I went. Ahh times have changed a bit, I am glad that I went the old bike route.

Here is the ad for our oil tank site gauges. We will have them in three weeks. I am ssssssooooooo glad to be almost done with this insane project. I do not think that I will ever make an injection molded part again, definitely not a clear one lol. They turned out amazing and it was worth the effort. We are going to shoot an installation video on a new soft tail and on my 36. I will keep you guys posted. Have a great day.

little bikes and 47 progress.

HEre is a picture of me and my first motorcycle. It is a 50cc honda. My dad and I rebuilt this when i was very small. This bike used to fit me like a glove, which it isn't really the case anymore. I would ride it all over my parents property. I used to take this thing apart every weekend and paint it with a different color of spray paint. My next bike was a 62 cushman highlander, then a 48 hummer, followed by a 45 FL then my 36. This is the bike that started it all. I love it and am so happy. I am working on Andy's 47 this week. It is so nice. It will be running soon. I am hooking up the front brake and fender light today. I love this bike. The June issue of Hot bike has a feature on Bob's 47 that is just like this one. Go check it out. My friend Brittney and I took a couple of friends to go pick up their car. On the way to drop them off we saw this place that does huge Styrofoam sculptures. we stopped to take some pictures and ended up talking to the dudes that make them. One of them asked if we were artists, I told him that I just work on old junk motorcycles. He replied that he had an old indian moped that he got out of the trash and that we could have it if we wanted it. So the next day we hooked up with him and got a free bike. I love it when my days are fluid and things just fall into place. Here is Brittney with her new moped and my friend Michael Prugh. He helped us load it into her car. He is a great guy and has an amazing eye for building custom bikes. He was on Biker build off a few years ago. I think that his bikes are the best, google him.

We also shot some pictures for an upcoming ad. This is the pic of my dad and Jesse that we are going to use. The ad should be done in the morning, but I wont be able to post for a few days, I will throw it up on Monday. Hope you guys have agood weekend. 52 and 53 panhead riding pics

Here is a neat picture of three red hydra glides. a 52, 53 and a 49 We took some riding pics of the 52. Here is the view from the photographers seat. This is a crazy experience. I sat on it for 14 miles and that was more than enough. My dad hauled Mike Lichter across the country with this set up for the cannonball. It was over 3300 miles. MAN O MAN I love pictures of panheads when they are moving. This bike turned out so nice. It is pretty neat to have a 52 and a 53 panhead riding down the road side by side. Go speed racer/ray go

oooohhhh ahhh 1938 and 1939 knuckleheads

Here is a neat picture of John's 38 and my dad's 39 back when it was fresh This bike had nos tires, I only rode it a little bit, they were very rough, the bike bounced up and down like a gravel truck. This is a picture of us in front of the Warner Fire Department. We are both volunteers. This is an all white 38 that was in an old enthusiast, I have always wanted to do an all white pre war bike. Hopefully someday a customer's interest in an all white 38 will align with mine. hint hint.

My daddy and I are going to this show this weekend. It is in Rapid City South Dakota. Swing by and hang out if you are in the area. (I did not make this poster) We will be bringing a 46 knucklehead and a 49 panhead, and maybe another bike if we have time to pull it out.. HOpe to see some of you guys there. We pulled the 39 out of storage, it fired right up. I love this bike so much. It has been to both coasts several times and has over 32 thousand trouble free mileso n it since being restored. I did an iron butt run on this bike a couple summers ago. I have no idea why Harley changed the 61 inch motor. it is perfection

My dad is putting together flywheels, he has already assembled half a dozen rotating assemblies, these ones are up next. I love seeing stuff like this coming together. I spent the morning doing prep work for a bunch of aluminum welding. This is all good stuff. Lots of work! I hope all you guys are having fun on your own projects and getting ready to go for bike rides!

more exciting excelsior stuff

My friend sent me some more pictures of the x motor that i am getting from him. HEre is the cam cover removed and the intake cages and rocker towers. One of the intake cages has a chip in it. It will probably be easier to make a new one than repair this one. I will see when the motor shows up. Look at how beautiful the idler gears are! wow. These motors are so neat. original pistons and rings! I doubt that there will be any good 2011 rings a hundred years from now.
