Miss brittney prepping the Chino bike for the Eiteljorg Museum in Indy

About a month or so ago we got a call asking us if we would loan the Chino bobber to the Eiteljorg Museum in Indianapolis for six months. My dad said it was no problem. We put together the chino bobber recreation a couple years ago for a show in sturgis, It was based around my dad's 53 panhead with some dulled down parts. It had a cool superior muffler, wla bags and a 49 and 50 rear fender. We never fired the bike up in that configuration. After the show, we put the pepper red sheet metal on it and the backwards facing seat so my dad could haul Mike Lichter across the country on the cannonball run.

This was and is the perfect project for miss Brittney to take on. Here is a picture of the bike about half done.

Here she is taking off the goo gaw stuff.

She found this butterfly inside of the left tank.

Tanks are off

Here she is putting the 48 to 50 tanks on the bike. There are still a few things left to do on the project, but it should be done in about an hours worth of work. Good job Brittney.

Chino Panhead Finished!

Here is a pic of the chino bike that my dad and I built for Mike Lichter's rebel rouser exhibit. It is a super cool bike. I think that we did a pretty good job of replicating it. It was a great experience and I am happy that we got to be a part of it.

The tail piece on the muffler goes a little higher than the one in the movie.

The movie bike also did not have a be a man ride a pan sticker on it. It would be really cool if it had had one on it though.
Neato!

Check out the cool license plate topper!

Sturgis pics

Here is a pic of my bike in Huron South Dakota on the way home from the Kl0ck Works Pre sturgis party.

Here is a pic of Scott English, Mara and I in Sturgis. Scott rode his 36 el from Maryland to Sturgis and back. that is over 3600 miles. I thought that Stanley Miller and I were the only guys that used their first year knucks. Scott is the coolest!!!!1

Here is a group photo. Left to right--->Scott English, Mara, Me, Autogem Tom, my daddy, Bill Butcher and Dale Walksler.

Chino's Bike in THE WILD ONE

What a great picture!!!! When I was in Colorado earlier this month Mike lichter asked if my dad and I could build a replica of Chino's bike for his annual Sturgis Display. This is a pretty rare opportunity, and I am happy that we get to be included in the event. This years theme is "Rebel Rousers" and it is filled with iconic bikes that inspired people to get involved with motorcycling. I accepted with out even knowing what type of bike Chino had. The bike is a 49 or 50 panhead and we will build a good replica of the movie bike, it will be kind of crusty and ratty just like the bike in these pictures. Although the bike won't be a good representation of our work, I am still excited to be involved with a neat project like this. Mike is flying into South Dakota in a couple of weeks and we are going to do a tech article on turning our 53 panhead or 49 panhead into a replica of the bike. My dad and I are not sure which bike to use yet, but we will figure it out.

In this scene you can see the car shift knob, 41 to 46 speedo, and Chino's cool belt.

Notice the lack of a dash bolt, kind of a neat little detail.

The panhead that they turned into the movie bike must have been pretty decked out look at all of the holes in the top of the fender. I am not going to drill an extra 16 holes in an oem rear fender for the display. This is the one detail that I will not copy. The display will be at the buffalo chip campground all week long at this years sturgis.
