Pre Davenport scores!!!!!!!!

We haven't even left for davenport and we are already getting some awesome parts. Here is a pic of my dad with a set of nos generator shovelhead cases!!!!

Davenport bound!!!!!

Here is Tim's rig, he is my support vehicle. lol. Tim was nice enough to help haul a couple of bikes for us. I am riding my 36, thanks for helping haul stuff Tim.


This is John L's rig pulling our trailer. He was supposed to be my dad's support vehicle, but my dad backed out of riding his bike and decided to ride in the big rig with John. See you guys in Davenport.

18 inchers on our 37

Tim threw a set of cad plated 18 inch wheels on our 37 today. When we bought the bike it had 16 inch rims on it, and they looked terrible. The rims were from 1948, so the original owner had put them on after world war 2.


Holy Moly!!!!!!! This looks so much better.



Down side.

The fellow that we bought the bike from had re plated the original air cleaner , and it was way to shiny for the rest of the bike. I ran one of my reproduction 6 inch air cleaners last summer, and this year I put on this original air cleaner. It was missing 3 hooks, so I had to drill into the backing plate and set it up for some self tapping screws.

Tims frame and some messed up tanks???????

Here is Tim's 46 frame all welded back together and straightened out. It turned out really well, We replaced the whole front half of it. Check out older post to see how it worked. I have just been working on frames for the last two weeks, we have been getting a lot done.


We bought a set of 41 to 46 tanks a couple years ago and had our painter strip them, he found this interesting repair in the top of each tank. I have never seen anything like it. These tanks were mint before somebody tried to fix them. They probably would have been good enough to chrome plate until somebody mutilated them. Oh WEll

two styles of late 47 necks

Here is a pic of the neck on the new 47 that my daddy just bought. There isn't a UU embossed on it. Our new 47 is in the 10,600 serial number range.


Here is the other side of the neck. This is a late 47 neck casting.



Here is the embossed uu that was on another frame neck. This neck is one that I just got from the foundry. There are pics of the mold and waxes in previous posts,.




New neck!!!! It still has to be machined though. I am re tubing a late 47 frame, and I figured that I should make some necks in case I needed one some day. I am glad that I did.

Early 36 Frog eyes!!!!!

It has been a while since I have done a new parts update, so here is a new deal that I am really excited about!!! These are frogeyes for early 36 knuckleheads. I found an original one at Wauseon last year and had a die made up to punch them out. They turned out really well. My friend Joe made the die and did an awesome job. I still have to have some screws and plugs made up, so they can be sold as a kit.

bb47 bagger!

My daddy mounted the windshield and bags on Bob's 47 yesterday, The windshield is the best reproduction that I have seen. Vtwin makes them. The bags are top notch as well.


We are having some rear crash bars painted up, we are bringing this bike to Davenport to get judged, so check it out if you are going.

mm 47 frame retube

Here is a cool pic of drilling out the backbone tube in a late 47 neck.


Here is a pic of the master of oddball machining set ups. My daddy bored the old seat post out of the bottom of this frame.



The rusty colored areas are where the tube has been cut away. I am totally amazed that my dad can dial something like this in, and have it come out so well.

Neat original paint parts!!

Here is a cool pic of the model tanks at the HD museum. These tanks were used for striping reference in 1936 and 1938. They didn't have gas caps or shift pivot screws. These are awesome!!!


Here is a good pic of the factories original paint 36. Notice where the gold strip stops on the fender. Also check out the sealer on the end of the shift drum shaft, and the chrome shift rod!
