chain guard fixture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

here is a pic of the fixture I made yesterday. I am a sucker for making jigs and fixtures to make my live easier.


This oil tank has already had the old chainguard tab removed, and the dents pulled. You can see the fixture in place.



Here is a pic showing how it holds everything in place. There is a .o80 long .5 step on the stud, that centers up the hole in the tab.




Here is the finished product, there is probably thirty percent more weld that a factory tab, on this tab, the customer says he wants to ride this bike all over the place. With that in mind, I decided to make it a little stronger than stock.

rebuilt linkerts and practical jokes

here is a pic of four linkert m35 carbs my dad finished up yesterday. We make the needles, and they work great!


This carb is for my top end, hence the m.o. initials. I am not sure if my dad or one of the employees put the "HO" in front of my name. If I find out, I am going to kick them in the face. Real funny guys, real funny!

Missing/new shop dog

worn out wrist pin bushings.

This is a knuckle motor that came with a basket case my daddy bought last summer. It has .40 over FL cylinders. The wrist pin bushings were wore out. Here is a pic of the piston twisted all the way over. Surprisingly the cylinders were not scored at all, the bores were glassy smooth. Everything must have just centered up and ran!

I marked the piston and cylinder alignment with a paint marker. This is a pretty neat deal, I have never seen wrist pin bushings so worn out.

Riding motorcycles and not taking pictures!

I spent all day riding motorcycles, I rode my 36, my dad's 39 and a couple of postwar knuckleheads. I want to put a couple thousand miles on my 36 before I ride it to New York in June. I really like the picture on the right, I didn't take any pics while I was riding today, so I used a pic I found on the internet a long time ago. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

1936 harley knucklehead

AHHHHH, This is the second early 36 lug nut that I have broken. I bought ten of these lug nuts for a lot of money when I was in highschool. I put later lug nuts on it after this.

Here is a pic of an oil tank for a 36 we are working on. It is pretty early, I don't think very many of these were made by the factory.

We rode my 36 EL around today, Everything seems to work well, I have to adjust my rocker arm oiling a little bit. Here is a pic of my daddy riding it.

1947 knucklehead ready to fire up!!!!

Pretty much finished. One of our friends needed some bikes for a local bike show, so we took four of them in. I will start this thing up in the next couple of days. It sure looks good!!

This bike is really nice. I love blacked out knuckleheads.
