case repair and more chrome!


There was a small puncture crack in Paul's 37 ulh case, this is the motor that was in the three piece frame from a few posts ago. Sometime over the last 73 years the bike must have hit something pretty hard.


here it is all ground out, it is really important to grind out all of the cracks when welding aluminum, if you miss just a little bit of one, it will spread when you are welding it.



Here it is all welded up and sanded down. This is a pretty easy repair. I am in love with aluminum welding.




Here is a pic of my daddy's 53 tanks with the emblems on them. We are going to plate a rear fender and front fender for the bike too. I think that he is secretly trying to compete with my uncle ricky and have a flashier panhead. Even with the chrome sheet metal, we will have a ways to go. I am trying to talk him into painting pink diamonds on top of the tanks and fenders, but he is still undecided.
